The Hermit – Fame

A boy asked old man, “What is fame? “The old man replied, “Fame is when the whole universe knows you.
The plants, animals and humans of course… “And the boy continued, “and that’s not possible…”

“No,” said the old man, “we all know each other. The plants animals, the mountains, the clouds, the sun, moon,
everything you can see and can’t see emerge from the same source. ”

So that means “everyone knows me and I know everyone. So we all are famous?”

“Yes, we all are. It is just that we do not remember each other. Our memories are not long. So there are few of
us who want to be remembered. They come out of the lot. Do something so great that they are remembered
forever. ”

The boy looked with awe and said, “Then I want to be remembered. So what do I do so great that I am
remembered? ”

Then the witty old man says ” Alas, that question I cannot answer that for you. You have to answer that one by
yourself.” Leaving the little boy puzzled.

And the young boy sets to find these answers like many young boys. Some found answers in being a warrior
fought for people. Some found in science and left their inventions for mankind. Some healed people, some
wrote masterpieces and the rest made love and we are their children.
